PSHE

Excellent PSHE education facilitates the opportunity for pupils to develop the knowledge, understanding and skills they need to manage their lives now and in the future -flourishing as individuals, family members and members of society.

Research shows the knowledge, understanding and skills children gain from PSHE lessons ensure they are able to achieve their full potential. PSHE lessons are designed to support children’s wellbeing and tackle issues that can affect their ability to learn, such as anxiety and unhealthy relationships.

At RKPS, we pride ourselves in delivering a knowledge and skills based PSHE curriculum for each year group, which has been developed using the Brighton and Hove PSHE Programme of Study and, has been tailored to meet the needs of our individual pupils. This is in accordance with DfE guidance for Relationships, Health and Sex education (2019). Our PSHE curriculum also contributes to the duties on schools Equality Act (2010).
